Patients scheduled for surgery must have a scheduled admittance time between 7:30 and 8:10 AM for the morning of their surgery. Please follow pre-surgical instructions very carefully to minimize anesthetic risk to your pet!
Prior to a hospital stay, all animals must be current on their vaccinations. If this will be your first visit, please bring proof of your pet's vaccinations with you so we can update our records. Whenever possible, faxing, mailing, or dropping copies off prior to your scheduled appointment is preferred.
Visitation of hospitalized patients is scheduled on a case-by-case basis. In some cases, seeing family members excites and confuses patients, disrupting their recovery and disturbing other hospitalized patients as well.
All animals hospitalized for surgery are released after a post-surgical physical examination and evaluation. Patients hospitalized for routine surgery usually go home between 4 and 5 PM on the day of surgery, however, we are open later on surgery days to accommodate many people's schedules. Pets hospitalized for non-routine procedures are scheduled for discharge at a specific time to allow the doctor to discuss his/her findings and give follow-up care instructions.
Progress reports on surgical or hospitalized patients and/or telephone consultations with a doctor may be arranged by leaving your name and telephone number with the receptionist. This avoids interrupting the doctors when they are seeing patients; completing morning physical examinations, re-evaluations and treatments; or performing surgery.
WITH YOUR PET'S BEST INTEREST IN MIND AND FOR THE PROTECTION OF OTHER ANIMALS IN THE HOSPITAL, PLEASE HAVE YOUR HIM OR HER ON A LEASH OR IN A CARRIER!
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ONE WITH YOU, PLEASE ASK US AND WE WILL LOAN YOU ONE WHILE YOUR PET IS AT OUR CLINIC.
